The acting is average at best, there isn't much action until the end of the film and the dubbing is terrible. The monsters themselves are pretty cool and I did enjoy the scene where Medusa and the awful Hydra speak to each other in distorted English! Obviously, this intended to match the scale of Fritz Lang's two-part "Der Klash von Eschnapur" (1959),it cannot hold a candle to the German master's work, but I noticed some echoes of that film in this production though, as in, recycled music and there was even some little bits ripped off from American movies as well, such as the Kraken from "Beastmaster: the Barbarian".. The "gods" look like a rejects from 2003's Ven Helsing, and they have a little monster friend who can't walk upright (bad job there, guys) but does manage to hold his own nonetheless. Bobo, the owl mecha, can grow in size and has a head like a Cylon from "Battlestar Galactica" and hooks instead of paws. Plus, he has a circular saw in his chest. This is a useful appendage, let me tell you! Too bad that footage ended up on the cutting room floor! Will this sequence been omitted in DVD versions as well?
Technically the film is just brilliant. It shows on the screen the amount of money that has been spent into the making. The sets are glossy and breath taking. The camera work is just superb. The editing is fantastic and crispy. Musically a very decent and a good effort. But I say it again, the -virtually unknown- director is no match for Lang. For those who go for Artistic Cinema, This film is strictly not for them. But those who need Full Time Pass, Clash of the Titans is the real good choice. Here the Film Maker is trying to fool you, But in return they are offering you a Glossy Dream of 2 hours.
I think the best way to watch "Clash of the Titans" is in total silence, with your eyes glued to the screen and your mind turned towards the frames and all the great actions and dialogues. So if you are looking for a Roller Coaster ride of Entertainment, Go for it!
